Enjoy a one-of-a-kind culinary experience under the Oaxacan stars on our “Noches de Sabor Oaxaqueño” tour. From 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., we'll take you on a food journey through the heart of the Centro Histórico of Oaxaca de Juárez, where traditional flavors come alive as night falls.
We begin with the iconic quesillo — mistakenly known abroad as “Oaxaca cheese” — a delicacy that captures the essence of local cuisine. Next, we'll taste the unique smoked beef sausage brought straight from Ejutla de Crespo, the town where it was born, connecting us with the culinary traditions of nearby communities.
At 6:30 p.m., we'll refresh our palates with agua de horchata con tuna, an emblematic Oaxacan drink, or a delicious tejate, known as “the drink of the gods,” followed by a tasting of regional sweets that reveal Oaxaca's rich candy tradition. At 7:00 p.m., we'll enjoy a traditional empanada de amarillo from San Antonino Castillo Velasco, a flavor that takes us to the essence of Oaxacan villages.
The journey continues with the famous Oaxacan tamales, served with one of the 7 moles that made the city famous, made by a family with more than 17 years of tamale-making tradition. At 7:30 p.m., we'll cool off with a chocomío, a cold drink made with Oaxacan chocolate and milk, perfect for Oaxacan nights.
We'll wrap up our food adventure with a delicious esquite — corn kernels with mayonnaise, chile salt and chapulines — capturing the innovative and traditional spirit of Oaxacan cooking.
“Noches de Sabor Oaxaqueño” isn't just a tour; it's a doorway to the authenticity, tradition and culinary richness of Oaxaca, designed for those who want to experience the true essence of our culture through its most representative flavors. Come discover Oaxaca in a different way, under the cover of night and the spell of its flavors.
